I worry about Jeremy Kyle I really do, it can’t be easy going to work everyday knowing you’re going to be faced with a variety of skanks and chavs (and that’s just the audience). But now “Old Man” Kyle (see got the lingo) wants to go to America!
So now the King of the Pikeys is heading off Stateside to record a series that will be aired in 2011…
“I’m looking forward to meeting some ordinary American people and hearing about the extraordinary lives. This show isn’t about me, it’s all about their issues and problems and how we can face them together.”
The thing is, I don’t think Kyle realises quite what he’s letting himself in for. I mean, he’s probably going over there and expecting to throw some Kyle-isms out such as “get a job”, “put something on the end of it” etc with the only difference being that the audience and guests will be super sized and louder. But, what Kyle is forgetting is these are a nation of people who are used to airing their dirty laundry on TV.
Let’s just remind ourselves of some Jerry Springer classics topics: Midget Fight Championship, I had sex with my Alsatian, Shocking Family Secrets: I sleep with my grandmother…yeah seriously, a quick youtube visit tells me all I need to know about what the new Jeremy Kyle show will be all about.

Now I’ve been thinking about this Jezza K goes stateside malarky and I think it’s going to fail spectacularly. Remember when they did Jerry Springer UK for a while? It failed because Jerry just didn’t gel that well with the British audiences. I can only think that Jezza is going to have the same problem, he’s not likely to endear himself by shouting the odds and pointing fingers is he?
I think it will be car crash telly of the highest order as the JK style of ‘communicating’ will be a wake up call for some of the American trailer trash that will no doubt be on there. Although I think it’s going to be a road traffic accident, I’ll still be watching (avidly!).
