Aneurin Barnard Interview/We’ll Take Manhattan

Last June I was invited to interview Welsh actor Aneurin Barnard who had just completed filming new BBC Four drama “We’ll Take Manhattan” for Buzz magazine.

We’ll Take Manhattan sees Barnard take on the role of iconic photographer David Bailey and tells the story of his 1962 Vogue photo-shoot with model Jean Shrimpton.

I have to say that he was possibly one of the loveliest actors I’ve interviewed he was very down to earth and extremely passionate about his new project. Below is a copy of the article, which was in the July copy of Buzz. I can’t remember where I saved the original full-length transcription of the interview but I’ll have a good look through my files and post it underneath when retrieved!

We’ll Take Manhattan is on BBC Four tonight at 9pm (26.01.12)

Happy St David’s Day

Dydd Gwŷl Dewi Sant hapus…

When I was a kid, St David’s Day was always the day that kicked off my birthday countdown {its on the 11th so if you want to send cards, presents, cash…feel free} and it was a great excuse to dress up and eat Welshcakes. Obviously as an adult I skip the dressing up bit – although keep the Welshcake tradition naturally.

I have been hunting for a picture of me in my “Welsh Lady” outfit from way back when but luckily for me I can’t find one anywhere so instead I’m going to share with you a few photographs, videos and literature from Wales to celebrate Dewi Sant.

If you’re interested in finding out a little more about St David then the BBC has a fact file, which you can read HERE.

“St David was baptised by Saint Elvis of Munster, and it is said that a blind man was cured by the water used for the baptism.”
